Australia’s fastest growing property portals: Domain’s residential platforms reach 9M Australians, growing at 4x the rate of nearest competitor

Domain’s residential platforms — Domain and and Allhomes — recorded their largest-ever combined monthly Unique Audience, reaching 9M Australians¹ in October according to IPSOS Iris, marking the company's accelerated investment in just two months under CoStar Group.

The growth to 9M represents a fundamental shift in Australia's property portal landscape. IPSOS Iris data also shows Domain residential platforms outpacing realestate.com.au in visits growth, with a record 55M visits, up 39% YoY6, further strengthening their position as Australia’s fastest-growing property portals.

This scale is matched by strong engagement, with high-intent actions on Domain such as listing views up 25% YoY4 and email enquiries to agents up 31% YoY5. Domain app performance also surged, with 131,000 downloads7, and an app audience of 1.29M for the month8.

“Delivering a residential audience of 9 million in October means that for every person REA added last month, we added four. That's not incremental growth — it's a category reset, with millions more choosing our platforms as their go-to destination for property searches.

“As our audience grows, so does the value we deliver consumers and agents. Agents are seeing record enquiries despite fewer spring listings, proving our audience isn't just getting bigger — it's more engaged and more motivated to transact.”

Domain’s momentum comes at a time when its largest competitor continues to raise prices, while using agent and vendor content to divert consumer attention toward its own expanding suite of services.

“With our decision to remove all non-property advertising from our platforms, consumers won’t be distracted by clutter, but instead on their property journey. Agents and vendors deserve better than paying more each year while their portal provider uses their listings to clip the ticket elsewhere.” Agents are also noticing the difference, with MGM Martin’s Sales Director David Bettini noting a significant uplift in traffic to listings coming from Domain.

“I don't know what's changed, but I've seen our enquiry has jumped probably 20 per cent, which is obviously converting to more foot traffic. It’s a pretty direct correlation.

“It’s my job to get the best price for vendors and listing on Domain is a no-brainer. We want to sell our properties quickly and for great results so you need to be on Domain to get that maximum exposure.”
